Wingdings Not Working In Word For Mac
Hi guys,

:no_upscale()/cdn.vox-cdn.com/uploads/chorus_asset/file/3998362/wingdingschart.0.png)
I found a sneaky way to get a document 'unfrozen'. I take no responsibility for what happens if you try this, but it worked for me.
- Open Microsoft Word document and position the cursor where you want to insert emoji. Press “Command + Control + Space” keys to open emoji keyboard in Mac, which is a Character Viewer app in macOS. Click on the command symbol on top right corner to expand the Character Viewer to larger view.
- I have installed fonts from DaFont and similar and they work without any difficulty. Any advice on how I can get these standard symbols to work in Pages please. I've just checked and they don't seem to work in other Mac apps - are they alien fonts to Mac? If so, and advice what can I use please? And would it export to Word doc?
- When you need an icon or symbol, like a lightning bolt or checkmark, it’s sometimes hard to navigate the different Wingdings and Webdings fonts. So I created this handy printable cheat sheet for an at-a-glance view of all available symbols.
- Go to Home tab, in the Font group, change the font to Wingdings (or other font set). Press and hold the ALT key and type the character code on the numeric keypad. Change the font back to your previous font after inserting the symbol. Common symbol character codes.

I'am not really familiar with ubuntu and changing system files is not straightforward with the mac. I also read that changing system fonts can lead to problems. So I am a bit uneasy with doing this, but maybe this is the price to get the full potential of your great package.
I went to Utilities -> Activity Monitor. Then under the Memory Tab, I selected 'Windows Server' and shut this down. The screen went blank and I was sent back to the User log-in screen. Then after I logged in again, my document was re-opened and re-appeared in the 'Recovered' state. I did have 'Allow Backround Saves' and 'Save AutoRecover Info every 10 minutes' ticked in my Preferences (under the Word menu). And I probably didn't need to do it this way because of that.
But it worked..
